GoMidwife offers ongoing education through our digital-based Modules of Midwifery (MOM) Program. Our program offers eight modules and two tracks. It is an independent study program which provides both flexibility and accountability to complete your midwifery academic coursework. Also offered is our Apprenticeship Management program (AMP). This program goes hand in had with your MOMs course. While MOM provides you the academic portion on your midwifery path, AMP helps you navigate the apprenticeship phase of the journey.

Prior to attending births in Phase One you will need to enroll in a local CPR class for adults and infants. Currently CPR certifications need to be renewed every 2 years. Renewing your CPR is your responsibility. Acceptable programs include AHA and the Red Cross.
During Phase One you can attend births in any observable capacity. This means you can attend as a friend, sister, doula or birth photographer. You must document all births in your NARM form 110 and have a witness initial your paperwork. You do not need a qualified preceptor for this phase.
For Phases 2 and 3 you must work under a qualified and registered NARM preceptor. You are responsible for finding a qualified and registered preceptor and for navigating through 200+ pages of the NARM PEP application. Our Apprenticeship Management Program (AMP) helps connect you to potential preceptors while we walk with you through your application process.

There are many hands-on and necessary skills needed to enter this phase including taking blood pressure, venipuncture, auscultating fetal heart tones, setting IVs, etc. Join us for our in-person Skills Workshop to learn these valuable skills.
As you enter this exciting new phase you will need to be certified in Neonatal Resuscitation to begin attending births as a second phase student. In preparation for your certification you will need to take our on-line Out of Hospital (OOH) NRP class. Following our class you can register at your local hospital or community lead NRP class or attend our hands-on NRP session to complete your certification.
Access to this group will be made available to newly entering MOM students for free for the first three session. If you would like to continue to access this group afterwords is an annual subscription. This resource is open to all midwifery students and midwives regardless of whether they are in our program.

All courses have instructors available to answer questions and all work is hand-scored. This format allows for location flexibility while building relationships with other students across the nation.
Assignments are due each week. Final exams are also completed online. Some courses have live teaching components in addition to teleconferences, videos and readings.
The program is comprised of up to three courses per quarter for a total of 25 courses. Students have the option of taking all three courses each quarter or working at a slower pace.
GoMidwife offers various skills workshops, retreats to build hands-on skills, as well as a pastoral care program and apprenticeship connection assistance.
Students receive a private grade sheet by the end of the second week with assignment grades and overall average. This grade sheet is only accessed by the student and instructors.
Each class is $350 for tuition and does not include books or materials. Scholarships are available for women of color as an underrepresented group in midwifery care.
This program is set to run alongside the PEP apprenticeship process. This program will take you a minimum of 24 months to complete and will most likely take 3 years or more.
Not currently. Our students complete certification through the NARM PEP process. Most, but not all, states who recognize the CPM credential will accept the PEP process.
While we do recommend completing your academic program alongside the apprenticeship, we often have students who complete the academic portion prior to apprenticeship.
